A dictation app I developed for Mac, iPhone and iPad, bringing speech recognition and AI editing into everyday writing.
An app built around speaking
I developed THOHT to turn spoken thoughts into usable text. On Mac, a global shortcut brings dictation into the app already open. On iPhone and iPad, a dedicated keyboard puts dictation alongside typing.
AI as part of the writing process
Speech recognition provides the first draft. AI editing and custom prompts help reshape it into emails, summaries or other formats, while personal vocabulary supports names and specialist terms. The work brings AI into a focused, everyday tool.
Clear choices about processing
Core transcription can run locally and offline on Apple silicon Macs. Mobile transcription uses cloud processing after consent, and AI editing processes selected text in the cloud. Making these distinctions clear helps people choose how they use the app.
